When the Logan County (Ohio) Solid Waste Management District decided to promote its SMART (Save Money and Reduce Trash) program, it made its own “smart” decision to inform county residents via a multi-faceted and widespread newspaper advertising campaign.
Sometimes flattering potential recyclers and sometimes challenging them, this series of five ads put a playful spin on a serious endeavor with fun headers and images that complement important information. (Four ads are shown here, in the first slide. The ads all ran in three local newspapers over several weeks.)
After creating the theme of the headers and the look that tied the ads together, I managed their insertion into the various papers, all on time and all accurate according to each paper’s specifications. I then worked with the same people to produce a brochure to guide those new recyclers (second slide).
